Why does dcuo take so long to download on ps3

I'm hoping it's worth it. Especially since it's free now. Yeah, I have down and 6 up. Took me roughly 7 hours to download it all. Nice it tells you how long you wasted waiting. It's downloading from the game client for me. I got like 3GB to go but I need my internets. If I cancel, will it resume? For all of you Windows 8 is the problem there is an update that it has that blocks DCUO from starting.

One in the steam client then another in the games launcher. It's stupid really. Just let us have the launcher at start instead of us thinking we can play when the steam DL is done.

In comparison to the game you mentioned DCUO is nearly 4 times larger. The only way this can happen with DCUO, that I am aware of, is if there is a direct download link available. I know of no official ones.
